Abstract Dream

It was dark. I was running through darkness. I had to get out of it. I was running with no map in my hand and no particular direction. I felt like I was running in circles. The darkness was haunting me. I had to leave this place as soon as possible. I cannot stand it. I had never seen such deep darkness. I had never been in total darkness for that long. I was praying for a ray of light. Just one light ray. I kept running as I didn’t want to give up. My lungs were begging me for air. My legs were asking me to stop. My throat was drier than the Sahara dessert. I had no idea whether I will ever be able to find light. I knew just one thing if I stop then there will be no hope to get the light. It would mean I have given up. But I was not ready to give up. I refused to die in darkness. I had to find light. I must. Suddenly, I felt like there was no earth beneath me. But still, I was running. I felt weightless. I didn’t know this much running would lead me to weightlessness. I wondered how much weight I had lost?? Feeling this much weightless, I thought I must have probably lost all of my weight. I don’t think one can lose so much weight in a day (sorry, night), can they?

It was like I was running in vacuum with nothing up or down. Finally, I had no energy left. In fact, I had nothing left. I just gave in and was ready to fall in the deep dark vacuum. Except that I did not fall. Instead, I started floating! I was floating in deep darkness. As I lay there floating, I realized I was in a different galaxy. There was no one but me. I felt the cold breeze around me. It wrestled with my loose hair. One minute I was finding it difficult to breathe and a minute later I was laying there with abundant air around me. I started to breath normally. My lungs relaxed. My legs thanked me for it. I thanked it in return. For, if my leg had not been exhausted I would have never experienced what I was experiencing then. The experience was mind blowing. I felt as light as a feather. Floating in mid air and that too with weightless body…. It felt like heaven!!

I don’t know for how much time I lay there … It is difficult to keep track of time when you are in a different world. I was ready to lay there all my life. Then came the thing for which I had prayed so badly. Yeah, you guessed it. Rays of light. However, the rays were not of what I thought. The rays of light were coming from stars. I looked around and I was astonished to see I was surrounded by colorful stars emitting dim colorful light. Grass green, water blue, rainbow violet and all cool colors which I had never seen in my life touched my body gently. I felt blessed. I thought this could not be a different galaxy. This should be what heaven would be. May be I am dead. May be I am in heaven. It felt so divine. The dim rays were pouring on me. I soaked myself in those beautiful lights. It was so peaceful…. So serene… so calm.

And then, I woke up with a broad smile on my face as if I had experienced what it’s like to be in heaven!! It’s by far my favorite dream!!
